Endosee In-Office Hysteroscopy Now Available

Associates in Obstetrics and Gynecology is pleased to offer our patients a convenient, minimally invasive way to evaluate common complaints like:

  • Heavy menstrual cycles

  • Post-menopausal bleeding

  • Recurrent mid-cycle bleeding

  • Repeated pregnancy loss

  • IUD strings that cannot be located

Endosee, or office hysteroscopy, is a procedure covered by most insurance companies and offers many of the advantages of hospital based surgeries. However, as an office procedure, it is more convenient, more comfortable, and usually can be completed in less than a half hour. The procedure allows our doctors to look inside the uterus with a tiny, flexible telescope-like camera and evaluate commonly encountered conditions like fibroids, polyps, or changes within the uterine lining. If the doctor identifies an area of concern, a biopsy can be performed at the same time to evaluate for cancer or precancerous changes.

Endosee, Hysteroscopy

Seeing inside the uterus gives more information than ultrasound and may a) eliminate the need for surgery, b) allow for less invasive procedures than hysterectomy, or c) allow earlier detection of problems. Endosee can be done with a small amount of local anesthetic and requires no special preparation. Additionally, the Endosee camera allows our doctors to capture images of the inside of the uterus, which can both be reviewed with the patient as soon as the procedure is completed and can be stored to your electronic chart in our office.
